I talked to HIM today...

"He was lead to Golgotha on the outskirts of town
There nailed to a rugged cross as His mockers gathered round
The sky spoke like thunder when He finally bowed His head
He who had given life now hung there dead
Then His mother and some friends came to carry Him away
They were trying to speak through a broken heart,
what only tears could say
The sun said cast no shadow on the world's darkest day
And with one last look they laid Him in the grave
But I talked to Him today and my cares all fell away
He made me feel like life had just begun
He said all of my trials can be turned into triumph
Through the victory that He's already won
And I talked to Him today and the comfort that He gave
Filled me with desire to tell the world that on Calvary He died
But right now He is alive, I know because I talked to Him today "
One of my favorite songs to sing on Easter! It reminds me so much of the focus I hope we all have today. No matter how big the problems seemed yesterday. No matter how overwhelmed you were or the grief you felt over the hopes you felt were lost. Today we celebrate a risen Savior. An alive King who has the power to conquer death and rise victorious.
If you are unfamiliar with the history of this day. God sent His only Son to the world.

He sent him in the form of a man. He grew up on the Earth. He was a teacher and a healer. He performed miracles and lived a perfect life. For that there were those that
hated Him. Hated Him so much that they went to the leaders of the town and begged that he be crucified. Even though He was guilty of nothing, they wanted Him dead. They wanted His testimony and power gone.
They crucified Him and buried Him in a tomb. (grave)
I wasn't there, but I've read of the account of what they did to Him. Having only heard
the gruesome death he suffered at their hands, I'm not sure how they slept that night.
How could they get out of their minds and hearts the life they took without cause.
Christ's followers must have went to bed that night broken. All the hope they felt must have left them as it seemed their leader, teacher, healer was gone. However, the Bible
tells us that on the morning of the third day, Christ rose from the dead!
You heard me correctly. He was and is ALIVE. He conquered death.
That tells me, that when I woke this morning, my problems are not too big for Him.
The solutions that I've been seeking answers for, He can still supply.
The hold that the devil may have had, can be loosed.
If He can raise from the dead, AND HE DID. If He can conquer the one finality on Earth, death; he can conquer anything in our lives!
He can give you a life victorious. He can mend the broken. He can give hope to the hopeless. He can fill the empty and bring to life the things that have long lost their life and usefulness.
Remember on this Easter, the hope that we all have because of this. Share with someone that hope!
